DECEMBER
A thought went up my mind to-day
That I have had before,
But did not finish,--some way back.
I could not fix the year,
Nor where it went, nor why it came
The second time to me,
Nor definitely what it was,
Have I the art to say.
But somewhere in my soul, I know
I've met the thing before;
It just reminded me--'t was all--
And came my way no more.
--Emily Dickinson
I start off this month's news update with this poem, for
2002 is coming to a close and 2003 is about to open, and as
humans, we always love new beginnings, for it gives us an
opportunity to clean house and start over. The thing is,
what have you done with the time that has passed? How have
you spent it? Time is such an interesting phenomenon. In Ray
Bradbury's futuristic novel, Fahrenheit 451, his main
character, Guy Montag, realizes that the sun burns time, no
matter what mankind does. A second ticks by, and it never
returns again. So has it gone to a place that you want it to
visit, or do you sit and wait for new seconds to appear in
order to accomplish your goals? Time will pass, have no
fear. It will not come our way again; instead we are left
with ghosts of it, memories that haunt our soul. So do what
you will with it, and make it good, for who knows when your
second chance will come to tackle this old goal
Let me take
this moment to say thank you to all of my family, friends,
and fans who support me and provide encouragement as I take
the reins of time and direct it down the path of a new
future.
Now, on to
the fitness news.
Thank you to
everyone who voted for me in the recent www.getbuf.com
cover girl contest. I placed second, and as a result will be
featured within the pages of their next supplement catalog.
The website will have future contests, so please continue
visiting it to cast your vote.
I have a
photo shoot in January for www.motoxwarehouse.com,
a new motocross website and clothing line. I will be in a
calendar and other promotional ads along with Kathy Feldman,
Brandy Maddron, and Dina Al Sabah, all top fitness
models/competitors in the NPC and Fitness America industry.
Women's
Physique World magazine has a second set of photos of me
available for sale on their website at www.wpw.net.
I also recently did a video shoot with them that features a
lot of outdoor flexing in four different outfits. This video
will be available through their website sometime in 2003, so
watch for it!
I also worked
with Michael Eckstut of www.herbiceps.com.
We did a lengthy photo shoot along with video stills and an
interview, all of which will appear on his website. I've
seen the photos already, and they are definitely worth
taking a look at. In addition, I have been invited to host
the chatroom on Monday evenings, from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.,
CST. This is an excellent opportunity for all of my fans to
ask questions and discuss training, nutrition, competitions,
etc. I welcome you to join in on the fun and e-mail
Michael at HerBiceps@aol.com for password and membership
information.
I am
currently in off-season training as I get ready for the
April Junior USA's in Charleston, South Carolina. I'm
cutting down a tad bit on cardio training (thank goodness),
increasing my sprints and plyometric drills, adding in a few
cheat meals here and there (helloooo chocolate!!), and
hitting the weights hard and heavy (is there any other
way?!). I plan to show up on the national figure stage in
top form, so I invite you to get tickets and head towards
the East Coast to watch me on stage.
Of course,
I'm still training clients and working on several writing
opportunities with various websites and even a newspaper. I
will keep everyone updated on these as my articles make it
into print.
Have a
wonderful holiday season!
