JANUARY
2003
This new year has shot off the starting line as quickly as
Michael Johnson in the Olympics. But I must take a moment to
slow down a bit and thank all of my fans who have e-mailed
me. I feel so lucky and grateful, for I receive the most
wonderful letters from all over the world. This both amazes
and flatters me, for I never imagined so many people would
view my site and state such positive words of encouragement
and such flowing compliments. Some of your e-mails make me
swell with pride and some make me cry, for I know that there
are so many of you out there who appreciate the hard work,
sacrifices, and dedication needed to attain the physique you
see on stage and in the pictures. I will always try my best
to e-mail you back as soon as possible. If you don't hear
from me right away, don't worry. A response will come, and
it will not be automated.
One of the
best bits of news I have for this month is that I have
finally settled on a trainer for 2003. I am pleased to
announce that I am now training with Mike Davies and am a
member of The Fitness Factory Team. This is an excellent
opportunity for me, for Mike is truly gifted and has
inspired many women to become their best on both the
national and pro level stages. In fact, he is well known for
training Jenny Hendershott, Adela Garcia-Friedmansky, Julie
Palmer, Renee Masi, Dina al Sabah, and many other pro and
national level fitness/figure competitors. I look forward to
great things happening with him and the rest of the team as
the new year unfolds. Please feel free to visit his website
at www.mikedaviesfitness.com
(I am located in the photo gallery under
"Figure").
And while on
the topic of the Fitness Factory Team, I wish all of the
girls on the team who are training for the Arnold Classic
lots of luck!
Another bit
of exciting news is that I have been invited to be a USA
Glamour Girl. This is a group of models from all over the
country who are featured on a paysite called www.usaglamourgirls.com.
Photographers like Steven Elliott Hendrix and Doc Scott work
hard to feature some of the most beautiful women in the
country. I welcome you to visit the site and become a
member, for there will eventually be many never before seen
photos of me as well as chances to view video clips and vote
for your favorite model. As of now, I am the only muscular
model on the site, so your votes will help to continue
keeping my look in the mainstream public's eye and get all
audience members to see how beautiful a muscular physique is
on a woman.
If you do
choose to become a member of the site, please use the
following access code to note which model sent you: TX3176.
This is very important to add in, for there are revenue
possibilities, and your contribution to the site will
actually help me in paying for my competitions.
Another
important note regarding USA Glamour Girls: This site does
feature nudity, so please be forewarned. I must also add
that none of the photos that feature me are nudes. While
provocative, mysterious, and sensual, the photos do not
display any portions of me that cannot be featured in a
magazine on the grocery store magazine racks.
Okay, on to
the really good stuff! As you well know, I am preparing for
the April 2003 Junior USA's in Charleston, South Carolina. I
have three months left and am lifting like a mad woman. What
do you think of a 106 pound girl doing a 495 pound leg press
for sets of 8 to 10? Well, I did this last week and walked
around the gym like a puffed up munchkin (how's that for an
oxymoron?). It feels so good to lift heavy once again, and
I'm doing this in order to increase a bit of muscle mass so
that I can hold my own on stage against the other
national-level girls. And since there will be four height
classes this time around, my chances of making myself seen
on the stage will increase. Now, if I could just do
something to change my stage placement so I'm not nearly
falling off the corner of the stage and blending in with the
curtain, then everything would be great!
I have cut
down on my cardio, but my diet still remains strict. Mike is
being tough on me! But I can take it. I'm a strong girl. And
with a calendar shoot in Virginia for www.motoxwarehouse.com
during this month, I need to make sure I keep my physique
tight and trim. In fact, if you look at the new gallery on
Michael Cox's page, you will see the softest look I'll have
for the year. That's me in the off season
As for other
news in my life, I'm working on my writing and have
completed several poems and a few paragraphs that might lead
into a new short story. Several of you have asked to read my
writing, and this is something I'm considering adding to the
site. I have also been asked to be a copy editor and writer
for a new female bodybuilding site that will be introduced
to the web in the early summer months, but shhhhh that
news is top secret.
And I've had
the good fortune of being interviewed by Greg Smith of the Fort
Worth Star Telegram. This is exciting because one of my
goals in this industry is to introduce bodybuilding and
fitness to the mainstream public and allow them to see that
a woman can lift heavy and reap positive benefits and
rewards from it, including an aesthetically pleasing
physique and a higher self esteem. On this last subject, I
am working on an article for www.ftvideo.com
(formerly www.genex9.com) and will be discussing what keeps
me motivated day after day. It will give you-as fans and
friends-an insight into the mind of Jodi Miller.
Well, that's
enough rambling for this month. I will be adding a few new
items to the site, including strength moves, nutrition tips,
and recipes of the month, brief summaries of books I've been
reading, and behind-the-scene details regarding various
shoots, including the one Women's Physique World did
with me in November (aren't John Nafpliotis and Steve
Wennerstrom awesome? Take a look at John's gallery, and let
me know what you think, and don't forget to go to www.wpw.net
and www.herbiceps.com
to see more flexing poses of me).
